DandyRX Provider Independence and Professional Standards Policy

At DandyRX, patient safety, clinical quality, and ethical healthcare practices are fundamental to the services offered through our platform.
Healthcare services made available through DandyRX are provided by independent licensed healthcare professionals. This policy explains the professional standards patients can expect from participating providers.

  1. Independent Medical Judgment
    Healthcare providers using the DandyRX platform exercise independent professional medical judgment at all times.
    Clinical decisions, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, prescriptions, medication renewals, and follow-up care are determined solely by the licensed healthcare provider based upon:
    • The patient’s medical history;
    • Clinical presentation;
    • Applicable standards of care;
    • Professional judgment;
    • State and federal law.
    DandyRX does not direct, influence, control, or determine clinical decisions.

  2. Professional Licensure
    Participating healthcare providers are expected to:
    • Maintain active professional licenses in jurisdictions where they provide services;
    • Comply with applicable licensing requirements;
    • Meet continuing education requirements;
    • Practice within the scope of their professional credentials.

  3. Patient-Centered Care
    Healthcare providers are expected to:
    • Treat patients with dignity and respect;
    • Provide care free from unlawful discrimination;
    • Promote informed decision-making;
    • Encourage honest and open communication;
    • Support patient privacy and confidentiality.

  4. Clinical Standards
    Providers are expected to deliver healthcare services consistent with accepted professional standards and applicable laws.
    Providers may:
    • Recommend treatment;
    • Decline treatment;
    • Request additional information;
    • Require laboratory testing;
    • Refer patients for in-person care;
    • Decline to prescribe medications when clinically appropriate.
    Patient safety remains the primary consideration in all clinical decisions.

  5. Prescription Responsibility
    Prescribing decisions are made solely by licensed healthcare providers.
    Providers are expected to prescribe medications only when clinically appropriate and permitted by applicable law.
    Providers may deny requests for medications, discontinue treatment, or require additional evaluations when medically necessary.
    No patient is guaranteed receipt of a prescription.

  6. Privacy and Confidentiality
    Providers are expected to maintain patient confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with applicable federal and state privacy laws, including HIPAA where applicable.

  7. Telehealth Standards
    Providers offering telehealth services are expected to:
    • Utilize secure communication technologies;
    • Verify patient identity when appropriate;
    • Evaluate patients using available clinical information;
    • Refer patients for in-person care when necessary;
    • Comply with applicable telehealth laws and regulations.

  8. Ethical Conduct
    Participating providers are expected to conduct themselves professionally and ethically and to comply with applicable professional standards governing their profession.

  9. Patient Safety
    Providers may refuse treatment, delay treatment, request additional information, or recommend alternative care whenever necessary to protect patient health and safety.
